Added Sep 29, 2009We're familiar with it topically and in the form of injectables-- but is anyone familiar with ingesting collagen? My friend is taking it and swears by it, which she only brought up after I told her that I thought her skin looked healthier... the crow's feet around her eyes had really faded... interesting. But it somewhat freaks me out. Have you tried it?

Haven't tried but I'm definitely intrigued. I've been taking Evening Primrose Oil for about a month nowwww.innerrewards.com... mainly for the anti-inflammatory benefits and I've also been getting comments on my skin looking healthier as well, so I feel it's entirely plausible. Worth a try I'd say!

You've probably ingested collagen and not known it. It's in products like osteobiflex and hair, skin and nail vitamins.
Doesn't really matter, everything you use topically on your skin eventurally ends up in your system anyway.
It does help bind and rebuild te undelying and toipical matrix of the skin
I have taken it in various forms and i see a difference.

I've taken it in a product that is mostly melatonin. I think it has an effect, but the melatonin helped me sleep better, so...
The big thing is that vegetarians and vegans research the source. Most collagens used in products are bovine or porcine.

I'm a firm believer in the mantra of 'You are what you eat,' but this sounds slightly suspect to me. I do give thanks to supplements, which I believe are part of the reason why I've avoided fine lines (for now); but if you could ingest collagen, why not ingest Botox, or Juvederm? While the human body is indeed an amazing thing, I doubt that our digestive tracts are cognizant of a cure for crows' feet. Also file under - "People want a magic pill for everything."
