Can I borrow some thread?

	By Marcus Padulchick, Nov 30, 2008 I know a number of women in the Princeton,NJ area who have their eye brows shaped through the technique of threading. Does it hurt? I have never personally experienced threading so I can not say. They must find it tolerable, they keep going back.

	By Ana Ortiz-Longo, May 13, 2009 I did it once and the pain was unpleasant but tolerable, like little mosquito bites. My problem was that it made me breakout. I get my eyebrows shaped by a professional with tweezers and then do the upkeep at home. I find this gets you the best shape since there is complete control over each hair you are plucking. Waxing, plucking none of it ever seems to last long enough! An electrolisist told my friend that waxing and plucking stimulates hair growth. Don’t know if it’s true but it sure would explain why three or four days after I get my eyebrows done I have to start plucking.

	By Julie Elaine Brown, M.A., Dec 04, 2008 it doesn't hurt, it is like waxing. I personally prefer wax even though threading is gentle and easier on the skin. The threading just doesn't last longer than a week for me, and that is not long enough.

	By Deidre, May 12, 2009 I agree that it doesn't last as long as waxing, but I like that it's a little more precise and I don't worry the person is going to make a huge mistake that makes me look ridiculous. :) It's also about half the price of waxing, in my experience.

	By Elizabeth B, Jul 12, 2009 I found out from my friend that threading only lasts for about a week to 10 days at the very most. So waxing definitely last longer than that.

Wow!! I know that threading is a traditional, almost ancient bridal make up technique in many parts of East Asia... particularly for removing all traces of baby hair from the faces of girls going into wedlock, like a growing-up ritual. I've seen stands in the middle of open air night markets that provide threading service and people, women and men, will be sitting out under the night sky on a stool getting this threading service done on their faces, right next to wok fires and street food stands! It's interesting to know that it also exists in our modernized Western spa-scape... I guess that means it really works!
