Added Jan 16, 2010Just because you've decided to change your eating habits and chose to diet (a.k.a eating right), doesn't mean that you have to starve yourself.
Making the adjustment to commit to eating 5-6 small healthy meals a day is going to take time. Don't punish yourself. Take it easy and think this whole thing through. It didn't take you a week to put on the weight (at least I hope not) so it's not going to take a week to take it off! Be reasonable. This is not going to be easy. You have to be practical for all the right reasons and with the best intentions.
When you have a project or an assignment, how would you approach it? How would you break it down? Alright then. That's the way you need to handle this. Break it down so that you can manage it. You know what you want your body to look and feel like, so get to it.
Don't bite off more than you can chew. Literally. Make a list of all the foods you should eat-nutritionally. Then make meals for the week ahead of time so that you can grab-em n-go! Let's face it! Who has time to think when you're running late?
Now you're in the groove, let's make that move! What are some of the activities that you enjoy? Make a list and find out where/how you can fit them into your schedule. If you can't, take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park your car a little further from the entrance at work. You know what you've got to do, so do it! Listen, I know you're tired, but if you just try it and keep adding on a little at a time. Day by day, you will see a difference in no time.
Give yourself a real good pep-talk during this trial. Become your biggest fan! Remember, I'm cheering for you every step of the way!
