Added Dec 27, 2009As a new year approaches and my values become more streamlined, I'd like to pass some of my simplicity on to my medicine cabinet. I've been taking supplements, in the form of various vitamins and herbs, since a minor health scare in 2003, and have been a devout and loyal soldier of the supplement since. My 'routine' now is the end result of years of trial and error, recommendation and recoup, and is also costing me a pretty penny. Some of my supplements are incorporated based on need: a food-based multivitamin, calcium tablet and Omega 3-6-9 oil blend are givens. The rest - kelp (for iodine, since I don't use much salt and have low blood pressure), Vitamin E (for my heart), a Vitamin B complex (for B12, since I rarely eat meat), and, occasionally, milk thistle (for a healthy liver) - are there, but are questionably superfluous.
So, here's my question: what do I keep, what do I toss, and what, if anything, do I add to the mix?

Hmmmm, for liver health...
Milk thistle? A Don't
Less drinking? A Do!
Now if only I could follow my own advice.
