Added Oct 16, 2009Between hair, waxing, eyebrows, yoga, facials, work and my 22 month old son, it seems completely overwhelming so I just get paralyzed and do nothing. Any advice??

There's not enough time in 24 hours to do everything.
Try to make a to do list.
Prioritize items on the list.
It's better to do 4 out of 10 right than to freeze
and do nothing at all.
If you get 7 out of 10 right or more, you are the elusive Wonder Woman!

No advice, just sympathy! I have such a hard time being present that I just have to remind myself over and over...I thought it would be a habit by now, but I guess not.
I appreciate the advice above--thanks!

Like Matt, if I'm feeling overwhelmed by my "to do" list - this includes elusive beauty treatments - then I see what I can take off the list to give myself some breathing room, literally and figuratively speaking. The thing about treatments, too, is that my brow waxer is at one spa; my hair stylist is at another salon; my facialist is at another spa, and so on. While it would seem almost beneficial to book multiple services at once, it's not always possible - but when I can, I do (i.e., if I'm getting a pedicure and am pressed for time, I request that the manicure be performed simultaneously by another technician - worth the extra tip!).
I recently read (and loved) 'Velveteen Principles' by Toni Raiten D'Antonio www.velveteenprincip...), the perfect guide to letting your hair down for Type A girls like us. I highly recommend it, if and when you've got time - even getting in a few pages here and there will cause your outlook to change.

When my kids were young, I did away with any treatments that weren't absolutely necessary. I simply did my own brows, etc. in order to gain more time at home. Now that my kids are older, I have no regrets. I find that I can getaway when needed for appointments and the kids don't mind one bit. We seem to all need a little more freedom at this stage!

Overwhelmed seems to be a word I feel I use every day!!! It just happens. I tend to calm down when I stop thinking of all the things I have to do that day and just take it one thing at a time. I feel your pain though.
