Added Jul 03, 2009Sometimes I'll apply sunscreen to my body when I get out of the shower if I know I'm going to be outside shortly. I usually skip the moisturizing lotion because it seems like a duplication of efforts...the sunscreen already feels moisturizing. Of course you have to reapply the sunscreen after a few hours or after sweat or water exposure, but it feels like a time saver if I know I'm going to be in the sun soon.
Do you skip the moisturizer if you apply sunscreen post-shower?

I feel the same way. I skip the moisturizer if I apply sunscreen. I have a combo moisturizer/sunscreen for my face that takes care of both!

I don't. I don't know if it's just that I'm in the habit of applying moisturizer and then see sunscreen as an additional morning component or not? Interesting question...

nooooooo I don't (for my face) because the sunscreen I have does not help to remove the wrinkles, so I need extra love via moisturizer ;)
What I find can help a lot is a thin application of a vitamin c topical, such as IS clinical vitamin c (which ladies, is the real reason I get carded sometimes), and then over that I can get away with just sunscreen or a thin layer of sunscreen and moisturizer. I also wear a foundation with SPF in it and this helps.
for the body....I will wear a combo sunscreen/moisturizer. I like Clarins stuff or La Roche Prosay which is fabulous for hydration and sun protection. HTH

Dr. Hauschka makes a great combination moisturizer/sunscreen with SPF 20. I've also used Lush's Skin Nanny, which doesn't have an official SPF level assigned to it because it's not moderated for use as a sunscreen, though offers SPF protection due to its combination of botanicals. I prefer natural products in general and wish that I could find a product appropriate for my body that offers the same level of sun protection. If you've got a recommendation, I'd love to hear it! On a side note, I wore Coppertone SPF 30 to the beach today, and despite reapplying several times, came home with a mild sunburn on my chest and back. I don't know if my skin has become more sensitive to the sun as I've grown older (this summer marks the first time I've burned, ever - I always browned as a kid, even with sunscreen), if the sun is stronger, or if it's a little of both, but I was shocked.
